What are the elements that make your ecosystem unique?
The elements that make my ecosystem unique are the fact that it's mostly carniforious trees, and that it contains many other ecosystems in and surrounding it.
How is your ecosystem well adapted to your biome?
My ecosystem is well adapted to my biome because, since it can't grow closer to the top, it only tries to expand its numbers where it can.
What are some factors that affect the balance of your ecosystem?
Some factors that affect the balance of my ecosystem is; the weather, because it affects the population with rapid-changing weather patterns and temperature; natural disasters, like earthquakes (one every 50 years) becuse it can change landforms more easily than weather and that it wrecks the community.
If a species is taken out it affects the whole food web since now creatures who ate that will now die, eat something else, or move wrecking it even more. Furthermore, the organisms that animal ate will now over populate, therefore causing what it feeds of decrease in numbers.
How are some elements of your ecosystem connected?
The sun will help everything biotic because its energy is passed to a producer (plant), then to more than one consumer.
Everything needs to drink so water is a prioridy for them if they want to live.
Also, each animal in the ecosystem is connected in one or more food chains and a food web.
What organisms act as the producers of your ecosystem?
The organisms that act as the producers of my ecosystem are larches and aspens (types of trees).
What might happen if your biome didn't exist?
Since my biome is mountains, if it didn't exist everything would be completely flat, with maybe a few hills no higher than 300m above sea level. That means it would be harder for some prey animals to avoid predators on such flat ground.
What are some positive and negative human activities that have an impact on your chosen ecosystem?
Here's a chart listing some of the positive and negative human activities on my ecosystem.
